This was a video game I made in Godot. I made all of the 3D models in Blender and did all the programming for the game in GDScript. I learned a lot about animation and the game engine whilst making it. I released the game publicly on itch.io here.
The game is a challenging boss rush style action game. You fight various creatures in ascending difficulty. To the right is an overview video showcasing each level of the game.
I made the axolotl's model in Blender as well as rigged, textured and animated it. I made all of its movement code in Godot. Finally I made the animation tree for it to be used in code as you can see by the image on the left.
The first major enemy I made for the game is the giant fish. I used all of the software mentioned previusly. I made its animations in blender and used physical bones for it. I programmed all of its projectile behavoirs as well and helped balance the difficulty of it.
The second major encounter for the game is this bird boss. I designed the creature by myself using Blender to model, texture and animate it. Like the other creatures I programmed it myself and made it more challenging than the fish fight.
For the final encounter of the game I decided to mix it up and go for something more surreal. I made the fight take place among the stars and made this fight the most challenging for the finale. The disign is a deer skulled beast with a body of golden chains and a masked rainhat.
A project I am currently working on is this puzzle game with the premise of editing text and images in the game. This is another Godot project that I have many ideas for. On the left is a showcase of the games editable text.
As mentioned previously, a core feature of this game is being able to swap images with your files. This is for 4th wall break puzzles involving the games files.
Another feature I added is physical buttons and settings to give the game a unique feel. I will expand upon this mechanic for use in its puzzles.
